As an IT Systems Administrator, you will ensure good performance, high availability, and appropriate security of the server environment.  Install, maintain and support Connexus Energy’s servers, data storage, enterprise business applications, and computer equipment in a manner that ensures maximum efficiency and results in minimal downtime and disruption of services.  Continue to expand the virtualized environment (applications, servers, and desktops).

Key Responsibilities & Results:

  • Install, maintain and provide advanced troubleshooting support for server hardware and software (application delivery such as Vmware Virtualization, Microsoft System Center,  and enterprise business applications) and related equipment to result in maximized productivity and stability of the server infrastructure. 

  • Install, maintain and provide support for the data storage subsystem to result in maximized productivity and stability of applications and database services. 

  • Provide advanced technical support to employees and other I.S. staff on server, storage and database related issues ensuring maximum efficiency with minimal downtime in accordance with customer needs and requests. 

Required Talents, Skills, Expertise, Education:

  • 2-year Associates degree
  • 5+ years of hands-on IT infrastructure support experience (LAN, WAN, Servers, PCs)
  • 5+ years supporting MS Windows O/S and Intel desktop computers
  • 3+ years direct user interaction experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Visio
  • Knowledge of and ability to support Microsoft Windows and web servers
  • Ability to diagnose response time and performance problems of the Microsoft Windows Servers and make improvements
  • Experience with monthly Microsoft patching process
  • Skilled in current Windows version and legacy versions, including: Windows 2012 and 2016 Server, Windows 10


Preferred Talents, Skills, Expertise, Education:

  • 4-year degree in a technical field
