Connexus Energy is a progressive energy company located in Ramsey, Minnesota that provides electric service to customers in a 7-county area north of Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota. Our cooperative has received exceptional rankings in service reliability and customer service.


As our IT Communications Administrator, you will ensure system performance, high availability, and adequate security of the communications infrastructure. Duties will include install, maintain, and troubleshoot Connexus Energy’s telecommunications, network infrastructure, servers, and computer equipment in a manner that ensures maximum efficiency and results in minimal downtime and disruption of services.

Key Responsibilities & Results:

  1. Install, maintain and troubleshoot all telecommunication hardware and software (enterprise voice, data, and radio) and related equipment.
  2. Provide advanced support and administer all fixed and mobile communication such as Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) and other cellular related equipment.
  3. Provide advanced technical support to employees ensuring maximum efficiency with minimal downtime in accordance with customer needs and requests.
  4. Technology management and market awareness to ensure Connexus Energy stays current with voice, cellular devices, and electronic communications technologies.

Required Talents, Skills, Expertise, Education:

  • Skilled in current Windows version and legacy versions, including: Windows 2012 and 2016 Server, Windows 10, Windows 7
  • Knowledge of and ability to support Microsoft Windows and web servers
  • Ability to diagnose response time and performance problems of the telecommunication infrastructure and make improvements
  • Ability to monitor alert logs and system logs, discern severity of problem, and contact the proper people to resolve the problem
  • Ability to analyze, research, document, and use problem solving skills
  • Ability to work outside normal office hours, including on-call status for nights, weekends, and holidays
  • 2+ year Associates degree or technical certification
  • 4+ years direct user interaction experience (Strongly Preferred)
  • 4+ years supporting MS Office, Windows O/S and Intel desktop computers
  • 4+ years unified communication and telecommunication experience (enterprise voice, data, and radio)
  • 2+ years’ experience in mobile network environments


  • 4-year Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, information services, or engineering
  • 3+ years direct user interaction experience (Strongly Preferred)
  • 3+ years supporting MS Office, Windows O/S and Intel desktop computers
  • 3+ years network experience (Local Area Networks, Wide Area Networks)
