Overview:

Connexus Energy is a progressive company that provides electric service to customers in a 7-county area north of Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota.  We are seeking an energetic, detailed orientated candidate who is looking for general office work experience to support our Business Accounts and Energy Services team.  This position will assist with the processing of rebates for our small commercial business clients. 

 

The internship is a temporary position requiring part-time hours March - May and full-time hours during the summer.

Key Responsibilities & Results:

  • Ensure energy efficiency rebates are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Review rebate applications for accuracy as they are received
    • Evaluate energy savings calculations for accuracy
    • Follow up with clients if additional information is needed for application
    • Enter required application data in to ESP software
    • Create check requests for approved rebates
  • Organize and file rebate applications

Required Talents, Skills, Expertise, Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Enrolled in and pursuing a 2 or 4 year college degree
  • Basic math skills 
  • Basic keyboarding skills for PC use
  • Working knowledge of the basics of Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Knowledge of operation of office equipment such as PC, telephone, fax, copier
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to clearly communicate information and ideas both verbally and in writing

Preferred Talents, Skills, Expertise, Education:

  • Knowledge of general energy use concepts
  • Knowledge of fundamentals of electricity and electric energy usage calculations (kilowatts of demand, kilowatt hours, peak demand) required/strongly preferred
  • Understanding of commercial lighting and electric systems/components (lighting, HVAC, water heating, and building systems) a plus
