    Are you looking for an exciting summer internship opportunity to grow your IT support and maintenance skills and help internal customers maximize their technology use?  Join our IT team as an Technology Services Support Intern.  Build your problem-solving abilities and gain hands-on customer technical support experience under the direction of the IT support staff.  The ideal candidate will be a quick learner with strong computer skills that can achieve results and provide excellent customer service.


    Connexus Energy is a progressive company that provides electric service to customers in a 7-county area north of Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota.  The internship is a temporary position requiring full-time hours during the summer.  This position will not be eligible for benefits at this time.  We offer a competitive wage and friendly work environment. 

    Key Responsibilities & Results:

    • Ensure quality technical support services are provided to employees in a timely manner
    • Integrate PCs into the office environment, including the assembly, configuration, maintenance and follow-up
    • Install and configure software and hardware for PCs and laptops
    • Maintain copiers, printers, and fax machines
    • Perform daily technical support health checks by visually monitoring and reporting health status indicators to technical staff
    • Cover the IT support phone line and provide first level support 
    • Process, record and prioritize all IT support requests as directed
    • Monitor pool laptop activity and reconcile pool inventory to checked-out devices

    Required Talents, Skills, Expertise, Education:

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Enrolled in and pursuing a 2 or 4 year degree in Computer Science or related field, preferably with a technology emphasis
    • Customer service experience
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
    • Knowledge of operations of office equipment such as PCs, copiers, printers, portable cell devices, and telephones
    • Ability to clearly communicate information and ideas both verbally and in writing
    • Ability to listen and understand information being communicated
    • Ability to read, understand and follow written work documents
    • Ability to research, document, and use problem solving skills

    Preferred Talents, Skills, Expertise, Education:

    • 2 years general work experience
    • 2+ years supporting MS Office, Windows O/S and Intel desktop computers
    • Knowledge of current Windows version and legacy versions, including: Windows 10, Windows8, and Windows 7
